How to Create a Patient Management Plan in Afya Wingu: Step-by-Step Guide to Section 8
Welcome back to the Afya Wingu Healthcare Management System tutorial series. In this guide, we explore Section 8: Management Plan, where clinicians document a complete treatment strategy for the patient — including investigations, specialist referrals, lifestyle guidance, and follow-up instructions.
We continue with the patient record for Maxwell Wright, a 20-year-old male seen on November 25, 2025. After completing the previous sections — Chief Complaint, Vital Signs, History of Present Illness, Medical History & Safety, Clinical Assessments, Medications Administered, and Diagnoses — it’s now time to create a structured, actionable management plan.
🔹 Section H — Patient Management Plan
This section enables clinicians to create a clear and coordinated treatment plan that guides the entire healthcare team — from clinicians to lab technicians, radiographers, and pharmacists — ensuring seamless care delivery.
🔹 1. Management Plan (Free-Text Box)
This is the main area where you outline the overall care strategy. It may include:
- Recommended investigations
- Lifestyle or dietary advice
- Required referrals
- Discharge instructions
- Any immediate or long-term actions
Example Entry:
“Admit for IV fluids and antimalarials. Repeat CBC and malaria smear in 24 hours. Advise rest and hydration. Avoid heavy meals until nausea resolves. Follow up in 3 days if no improvement.”
Tip: Be specific. Clearly indicate:
- What needs to be done
- Who should perform it (if known)
- When it should happen
Clear documentation ensures every team member understands the next steps.
🔹 2. Orders — Laboratory Tests & Imaging Studies
Afya Wingu includes quick-access buttons for commonly used investigations.
